It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass January 31st Edition

Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios

Apparently a fresh year comes with a fresh set of distractions.

I’ve been running since last spring, but recently I’ve attempted to push my distance further. The Unrivaled Basketball League just kicked off and playoff football is still dominating my weekends (though admittedly, with the Vikings out, I’m less invested). I’m coming to the end of a couple titles that have noticeably dragged my pace into the mud, so hopefully, finishing them will free up my time and I can get back to a more consistent posting schedule.

Luckily, nothing is going to stop me from continuing to report on Xbox Game Pass. Here’s the list of everything leaving at the end of the month (it’s worth noting that all of these titles are also being removed from PC Game Pass this time around).

If you enjoy a challenge, you need to try Death’s Door. It’s a quirky take on the afterlife (and you play as an adorable crow). Similarly tough, Darkest Dungeon is one of my favorite games I’ve never played–but it’s regularly on sale so don’t panic if you miss your opportunity to check it out here. I’m hardcore, but 60-100+ hours is a lot to ask in a couple weeks.

In the wider world of gaming, we’ve finally seen the Switch 2, but I didn’t feel the need to put together a full article based on the teaser. I expect the Nintendo Direct scheduled for April to be packed and my write up for that event to be similarly lengthy. In the more immediate future, I plan to cover the Xbox showcase towards the end of next week. I’ve also been grinding away on a couple reviews. That’s the thing about covering games–you actually have to play them BEFORE you start writing.

I hope you haven’t quit on your resolutions yet. Stick with me this year, we’ll hit our goals together.
