It’s a Sprint: Games Leaving Game Pass February 28th 2025 Edition

Yakuza 4 by Sega and RGG Studio

My brain has been in a fog the last couple weeks. It’s made getting things done more difficult than they need to be (even the things that are meant to be “fun”). But hey, we’re still here, checkpoint to checkpoint, one foot in front of the other. It’s important to remember that all progress, even if it isn’t dramatic, is still progress. Whether you’re writing a novel or playing a 100+ hour RPG, do your best and attack it with the intent of finishing. It’ll get done, eventually.

Anyway, let’s talk about video games.

Here’s everything leaving Game Pass at the end of February:

There’s a lot of good stuff here, but my personal picks are Maneater and Boltgun. Maneater is an open world (open water?) SharkPG. It’s a story about revenge–I’m not kidding. Boltgun, on the other hand, is a fantastic way to get your feet wet in the Warhammer universe. If you’re interested in learning more about the latter, I wrote a full review for it on the blog at my personal site (nohappyendings.net) when I played it last spring.

I really want to give Wo Long (not to be confused with Wukong) a shot before it leaves, but as is too often the case, I downloaded it the day it went live–and then never played it.

Oops.

I’ll be back in a few days to report on PlayStation Plus departures, but updates may get more sporadic after that. I’m trying to finish developing a small game while entering pre-production on another. 24 hours in a day is not enough for me to keep up with my interests.

Until then, go play everything.
